CPR AED Course Agenda
- Before Giving Care: You will learn to recognize a medical emergency and to know when to call 911 and when it is not necessary.
- Assessment: Gathering relevant medical information from a conscious victim is discussed. Also, you will practice assessing an unconscious victim and recognizing when a person needs CPR and when they do not.
- CPR: You will learn to do CPR using Prestan feedback manikins. Lights indicate if a student is pushing deep enough and pushing at the correct space to delivery quality CPR. Child and Infant CPR are optional parts of the course.
- AED: Automated External Defibrillators (AED) are an important component of performing CPR — AEDs deliver a shock to help the heart to beat normally again and are now designed for the public to use. Our AED trainers are just like real AEDs — you will listen as the AED talks you through attaching pads to the CPR manikin, analyzing for a shockable heart rhythm and delivering a simulated shock.
- Choking: You will learn to use abdominal thrusts (also know as the Heimlich Maneuveur) and back blows to help someone who is choking. You will also learn to respond if some is choking and becomes unconscious.

- Assessment: Gathering medical information from a conscious victim and determining if 911 should be called. Also, practicing the assessment of an unconscious victim and recognizing if they need CPR.
- CPR: We use Prestan feedback manikins that provide electronic feedback on the quality of your CPR. Students immediately know by lights on their manikin if they are pushing deep enough and at the correct pace to deliver quality CPR.
- AED: If a victim is in cardiac arrest, Automated External Defibrillators (AED) are an important part of performing CPR. AEDs are easy to use and deliver a shock to help the heart to beat normally again. My family had the pleasure of having Chris teach us a class that, in my opinion, is not an option if you choose to have children – it’s mandatory.

As an independent businesswoman, it was refreshing to work with someone who believes as I do:that punctuality, professionalism, kindness, and good customer relations are worthy goals to achieve.
Sornam Sahadevan
I recently completed a CPR class with Chris, and I urge anyone who is interested in taking a CPR class to take Chris’ class; you’ll be happy you did. Chris is a natural teacher, and he has an easy going and very likable personality.
